The Osteus look-alike contest

Congratulations to Shannon Zahnle - you and your family make us proud to be human. Your original hand-drawn Western Nostril is on the way.

In the winning photo Shannon captured Matt on his early evening hunt for basil leaves. Her other entries  feature their son Tolling shooting arrows at a bowl of pasta and Shannon herself tipping her colander to a passing red-tailed hawk, a bird native to their home state of Indiana.

In real life, Shannon is a photographer, juggler, and collector of fine art.  Matt is a poet and a chef.  Tolling’s their little boy. They all have a lot of mosquitoes in their backyard.
